Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how G-Track (“G-Track”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the G-Track web console, the G-Track Driver iPhone app, and the G-Track Driver Android app (together, the “Services”).

1. Who this covers

G-Track is a fleet operations product for fleet owners, factory desks, and drivers. Fleet organizations create accounts for their people. If you use G-Track as a driver or factory user, your organization is the customer that assigned your account.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email, phone, role, organization, and (for drivers) license and assigned vehicle details.
  • Location (precise and, if granted, approximate): GPS latitude, longitude, and speed from the driver app. Precise location is requested so the live map can show the assigned vehicle. If the driver grants only approximate location, we still receive a coarser position.
  • Background location: when a driver enables it, we collect this location data even when the app is closed or not in use. This is required for the core purpose of the driver app: the fleet must keep seeing the vehicle throughout a delivery while the phone is typically in a pocket, the screen is off, or the app is not open.
  • Photos and proof of delivery: camera photos (with date, time, and GPS stamp where available), recipient name, and signatures attached to a stop or expense.
  • Job and operations data: deliveries, stops, status updates, chat messages, expenses, and related notes.
  • Device information: push notification token, app language, and basic device/app version needed to deliver notifications and keep the app working.
  • Usage and technical logs: sign-in events, API requests, and similar records used for security, support, and reliability.

3. How we use information

  • Operate live GPS tracking, dispatch, proof of delivery, chat, and notifications.
  • Show a driver as online and share their position with their fleet (and with a factory, when that factory is linked to the job).
  • Keep the map and job history accurate, including last known location if a phone briefly loses signal.
  • Secure accounts, prevent abuse, and diagnose outages.
  • Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information, including location data, to third parties.

4. Location data (driver apps)

The driver apps collect location to share a live vehicle position for delivery tracking, dispatch, ETAs, and operational safety. Precise GPS (latitude, longitude, and speed) is required for that map. This is a workplace tracking product: without location, the driver app cannot perform its core function.

Background collection is required so the assigned fleet can keep tracking the vehicle during a delivery even when the app is closed or not in use. Drivers do not keep the app on screen while driving; the phone is usually in a pocket or mount. Foreground-only access would go dark as soon as the app leaves the screen, which would break live dispatch.

Location is transmitted over HTTPS to G-Track servers and is stored (it is not ephemeral). A live point is cached for up to two hours. A location history trail is written to our database as the vehicle moves (typically after about 50 metres) and the last known position is stored on the vehicle record. History is kept for the life of the fleet organization’s account unless that organization asks us to delete it.

The Android app asks for “While using the app” first, then shows an in-app disclosure before requesting “Allow all the time.” Drivers can turn background location off in Profile, or change the system permission in Android or iOS settings. Foreground tracking uses a persistent notification while the location service is running. Location is not required to create a web console account. Drivers who decline location can still sign in, but live tracking will not run until location is allowed.

5. How we share and transmit information

Location and other driver data are transmitted to G-Track’s servers so the Services can run. We do not sell personal information, including location, and we do not use it for advertising.

  • Fleet organization (third-party to the driver): owners, dispatchers, and other users in the driver’s organization who are allowed to see jobs, drivers, or the live map. Sharing with the employer/fleet is the purpose of the app.
  • Linked factories: inbound/outbound job status and, where the job is linked, driver location for that delivery.
  • Service providers (processors): cloud hosting and databases; Google Play services for device location; Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. They process data only to operate G-Track, not for their own marketing.
  • Legal: if required by law, or to protect users, the Services, or others.

6. Retention

Account, job, proof-of-delivery, chat, and stored location history are kept for as long as the fleet organization maintains its G-Track account, and as needed for security, dispute, and legal records. Live location cache expires after about two hours if no new ping arrives. Organizations can ask us to delete or export data for their users. Deleting a vehicle or driver record removes or detaches that person’s live point; historical trail rows remain until the organization requests deletion.

7. Your choices

  • Drivers can allow location only while using the app, allow it all the time, or decline it.
  • On Android, Profile → Tracking includes a Background location switch. Turning it off stops G-Track from tracking when the app is closed. Use Android settings to change “Allow all the time” at the system level.
  • You can sign out to stop the driver app from sending location.
  • You can disable push notifications in device settings.
  • Account changes (name, phone, language) can be made in the app or console where those screens exist, or by asking your fleet administrator.

8. Security

We use access controls, encrypted transport, and organization-scoped permissions so users see only the jobs and people they are allowed to see. No method of transmission is 100% secure. Keep your password confidential and sign out on shared devices.

9. Children

G-Track is a workplace product. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
